Tero first rode Motocross in 1989 aged 5. His first venture into speedway was on an 80cc bike in 1995. Between the years 1997-2000 he rode for Rospiggarna in the highly competative Swedish junior league, reaching 2nd twice and 3rd place once in the Swedish Junior Leagues.
